byte size

After much deliberation, I finally decided on a new computer to buy. I don't have a lot of money at my disposal, and I know Macs are the best things for graphics editing. So I bought a Mac Mini. Isn't it adorable? It is 6.5 inches by 2 inches. Of course its size and cuteness are not what convinced me...at $599, it was the price. The iMac, which I had been looking at before, is $1200 at the least. Plus, I am sure the Mac Mini's small size will come in handy at some point. I'm not stoked about prematurely buying a computer since my laptop died, but I am excited to have one - one that is dependable.

I'm in the process of trying to procure a Mac photoshop, and I am also planning a Nylon-esque shoot with local model Gloria. In addition, I finally made the leap and purchased my leather bound portfolio today. A few more shoots, and I think I will be ready to start going to agencies to ask for models to test with...and then get paid for it. I'll be printing my 11x14 images over at Costco because they are a mere $2 as opposed to $12.99 at Ritz and $19.99 at Walgreens.

(un)lucky little shark

I must have the worst luck in the world.

My laptop is once again not turning on. The warranty ran out a few months ago, so it isn't like I can just fix it up again. This is literally the say 12th time this has happened since I bought it - no joke. In fact, I've gotten really used to it, which is why I am not freaking out the way a lot of people would. All of my information is on my handy dandy external hard drive, and right now my dad is letting me use his laptop (thanks daddy!).

But my dad doesn't have photoshop and it kind of feels like sleeping in someone else's bed - just like it isn't yours, so you're not comfortable. It just kind of sucks. Especially because I was starting to feel inspired again and have some good ideas for some upcoming shoots...I was even buying new props...

Looks like this whole thing is going on the backburner again. I miss taking pictures...

Good advice...

“Growing up is never easy. You hold on to things that were. You wonder what's to come. But that night, I think we knew it was time to let go of what had been, and look ahead to what would be. Other days. New days. Days to come. The thing is, we didn't have to hate each other for getting older. We just had to forgive ourselves...for growing up.”

Inspiration: Felicity

Lately, I've been watching the Felicity TV series with my mom. It's like our thing to do together. We've just finished watching Part 2 of season 1. Anyway, the opening credits for this show were lovely and very unique. As opposed to a barrage of clips a la Friends or some dancing and singing like That 70s Show, the opening of Felicity was a series of beautiful black and white photographs, shown one after another with a song played over them. The images struck me, especially those of season 1 Scott Foley. Take a look above. This video features all of the opening themes for the show before it was canceled. I don't want to ruin anything for myself, since as I said, I'm still in season 1, but I'm sure the opening credits after season 1 were equally beautiful.

Lost at Home

I technically got off of my break a month ago, but I am feeling some serious lack of inspiration here. I'm working on some new ideas with some new models. But gosh, I'm just not feeling the rush i used to...
